Tope Ryan Fence Work

A small, but hearty and eager group came out to the beautiful Tope Ryan site along the Samish River in early May.
The January flooding had brought lots of flotsam and jetsam down onto the various fences that are there to keep beavers away from most of the newly planted trees and shrubs.  Between that and beaver activity, lots of fence line needed repair and staightening.
The big pasture is almost completely planted now ...
It was steady, hard work pulling and clearing ... beaver sign was everywhere.
Big ones like this had collapsed the fence in places ...
The flood brought debris and silt well beyond the fence line.
While some were out cutting fallen trees, others pretty much did this kind of work ...
