A group came out on this gloomy day to remove still more invasive ivy vines from the Samish Island Heron Nesting site.

Introductions, instructions, equipment, and then off to the woods.

After some reminder demonstrations, we set to work and began to build some impressive piles of pulled out vines.

"Before" and "After" in pretty much the same spot.

It was very thick and lush, but quite easy to pull in the damp ground.

Some trees where the ivy was cut off last year, and some trees still needing treatment!

You have to get right down in there and grab it and pull it!
