Tree Planting at Green Rd. Marsh
November 15, 2014
A huge group of folks came out on a chilly morning.  Doing a major planting as a tribute to a good friend, Ric Boge, who is fighting a difficult illness.
Ric, with Kurt Buchanan, who helped organize the event.
A big field, 1,000 trees, and plenty of food and drink.
Molly Doran of the Land Trust and Emily Derenne of Skagit County ... the folks who brought the plants and provided the place to put them!
The holes were already dug, but the trees and shrubs were frozen tight in the little pots!  We turned them all toward the sun to help them loosen up!  Some folks whapped them with mallets to get them freed!
There was plenty of catching up to do while we waited for the magic of the sun!
Some enjoyed hot drinks .......       There was a demonstration of how to plant ......      And some took a nice walking tour
Another group went out and planted willow sticks.
Some kept on hammering!.
