Tree Planting at Green Rd. Marsh
March 21, 2015
A huge group of folks came out on a rainy morning.  Doing a major planting as a tribute to a good friend and family member, Ric Boge, who died recently.  A wonderful way to remember a fine person.
After some good demonstrations by staff from the Skagit Land Trust, our crowd of nearly 80 people set to work - 900 shrubs to plant.

Here is how it looked as we began.
The land steward for this beautiful Land Trust site.  Helping here - helping there!
After shrubs planted and protectors installed, folks "wheeled" loads of mulch to cover the surrounding soil.  It was a muddy job for all.
The whole event was masterfully organized and with good food as well.
There it is - done!
A big and amazing job.
We will enjoy watching the field return to a natural habitat over the next few years.
