Graber Invasives Removal   October 27, 2018
A pretty October day and 11 folks -  volunteers, intern, and staff - came out to the Graber property to continue working on removing invasive ivy and blackberry.  The picture to the right shows the access road coming off the "Service Road" which parallels Hiway 20 near Anacortes.  It is a very pretty place!
Here are a few plantings - there will no doubt be many more.
Many approaches to pulling ivy - they all work!!
In case you don't know - this is the ivy.  Pretty amongst the autumn leaves.  But it is sooo invasive and climbs trees.  It has got to go.
Here are some folk hard at work - we pile it on cardboard to prevent re-rooting or spreading.
We really cleaned out a LOT of ivy and quite a bit of blackberry.  Good work everyone.
When you need a break - clip blackberry!

And - the pile is growing.  We eventually made at least 4 piles, all much larger than this one.
