Samish Island - Flower Farm Ivy Pull
June 01, 2019
Here we are, a ready-to-go group of nine volunteers and Land Trust staff.

We meet at the church and walk to the entrance of the property and  down the trail for orientation and instructions.

Then off we go for ivy pulling and berry cutting.

A nice day for it.
Much of the ivy is up on the steep bank toward the main road.  Are these folks goats?  Or What?

Tough work well done.
Such BIG old trees.  These have had the ivy cut off during previous work efforts.
We pile the stuff up where it will dry out and not re-grow.
Here is a pleasant spot for a snack break and some visiting.  Catching up with old (and new) friends is always a big benefit of the work parties.  (They ARE called Parties!)
Our crew got everything done that was planned, and we also got some pesky blackberrys trimmed as well.

There is plenty more work to be done and eventually this will be a really wonderful site for all kinds of activity in the future.

THANKS EVERYBODY!
