Staff, "old hands", and some Skagit Valley College students and instructor came out to the Tope Ryan site to remove some un-needed blue "protectors" and shore up some sagging beaver fencing.
Here is before we started.  The shrubs, trees and protectors were put in two years ago.
Working at it and they are starting to pile up.  Bags full! Lots of walking - it is a BIG field - and we wanted to get all the old protectors back to the parking area.  There are deep channels from beavers and flooding so walking is slow and careful!

A nice interpretive sign greets us and public visitors.
There is a lot of this beaver fencing installed over many years.  Some of the crew worked along it to shore up places starting to fall.
We found these in the field - probably stranded when the past big rains flooded the field.  On the left likely a cut-throat trout and on the right fingerling coho salmon from early 2022 hatching.

We also found these spawned eggs in the field.

Wasp nest on protector stake.
The Samish River running alongside the property.
A big job well done - Thanks everybody.
