Emerson School group out on a drippy, gray day to cut back invasive blackberry from fir trees and pick up trash at the Mud Lake Land Trust property.
Getting started with some bird and wildlife study. Mud Lake has a lot of wildlife and types of birds.
The firs are more than 10 years old now, and quite tall. But the blackberries climb all over them in the growing season.
Basically a wet, look-for-the-vines, get poked job!
We gathered a large bag of trash too - found several parts for a car!
Everyone well dressed and equipped and we got the job done!
Mud lake has some nice interpretive signs but it is even just a pretty place to stand and watch.
Thanks everyone - another fine contribution to our protected lands.
