A hearty mix of 11 experienced counters and several newbies bundled up and braved the snow and cold early in the morning.  Here we get some orientation.

We even have a "12th Man" participant!

Geared up and heading in. 

Some "invasive" (but still pretty) Holly.

Trees have numbered metal tags.  Pink flagging means reported last year.  When we finish reporting the tree this year we replace the pink with red.

It takes a LOT of looking way up to see and count the nests.

The trees are very tall and the nests are way up there.

There are a lot of them.

It WAS cold, but we had hot drinks and snacks.
