The land steward, a board member, a staff person, and a volunteer came out on this warm, warm day to get some invasive weeds out of the property. We went after butterfly bush when we could reach it through the thickets of blackberry. But we mainly went after thistle!
We also clipped out a lot of blackberry around smaller trees.
We took protectors off dead ones.
The trees have really grown tall.
Look here - 4' spikes this year all ready.
Typical "pose" of the day.
A reminder of years ago logging here.
View toward neighbor house to the west.
Two good hours of work before the major heat - plenty done!
