11 folks - staff, contractor and volunteers - came out on a pretty nice day to get started putting up fencing along more than 1/2 mile of Nookachamps Creek at the Barney Lake site. It will protect most of the recently planted trees and shrubs from those pesky beavers.
It takes a lot of all kinds of tasks, tools, and positions.
We used this to get it pulled tight between posts.
Here we have it laid out, ready to attach to posts - with a nice extra bent lip at the bottom to keep them from digging.
Put three of these hooks on every post.
660 feet of wire and more than 50 posts - whew.
On the next page will be some pictures of the trees along with one of them when they were planted back in March. They have done really well.
