Here is the river just a ways on beyond our planting site.  The tall hemlock marked the end of our trail.  In about 40 years our little planting there will all be tall like that and become quite a different and diverse forest with a continuing circle of life.

A TREE and some EAGLES for PAT.

Some years ago one of our intrepid volunteers, Pat Hurley, lost a battle with cancer.

The last work party I recall with Pat was here at Cumberland Creek planting trees at what is now the start of the Leef Trail.  Out of memory I planted this little guy where he had been planting.  And these two eagles flew up from the banks of the creek to perch in the high branches.  Quite magical.
