Seven volunteers and two Land Trust staffers spent about three hours pulling ivy on this conservation easement near Little Mountain Park in Mt. Vernon on Saturday, April 28.
Even though we did not get all the ivy (if that is even possible!) we were able to make a sizeable dent in that established near the park. Everyone had a great time getting very muddy while doing some good.
By removing the invasive English Ivy, we were able to encourage the growth of native plants and help ensure the survival of many trees for future generations to enjoy!
