On a chilly and drizzly Saturday, three volunteers and a Land Trust staffer spent several hours clearing weeds and blackberries from around trees and shrubs recently planted at the Minkler Lake Conservation site.
Many of the trees and shrubs were completely hidden in the weeds, so they will now have a much higher survival rate!
The tree and shrub nursery that was made in April, while not yet totally invaded, was also hoed free of weeds.
